What is Selank?
selank (Russian: Cеланк) is a nootropic, anxiolytic peptide based drug developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian academy of sciences. Selank is a heptapeptide with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. It is a synthetic analogue of a human tetrapeptide tuftsin.
Neuropeptide Selank is a synthetic derivative of the human body’s naturally produced tetrapeptide Tuftsin. Selank is a hexapeptide whith a wide range of uses. Selank is used as an anxiolytic in the therapy of anxiety and phobic disorders, including generalized anxiety. Its action is similar to that of mild benzodiazepins but without the sedative effects.
